SP founder Jenna Caputo created the company to fill the need in her area for a company to provide businesses and publications with affordable, quality content services—even if they couldn’t afford a big marketing firm. She wanted a place that would be welcoming to any type of business, especially the small, local businesses in the area that don’t have the resources to have an in-house marketing team. Silverpen is always an extension of any business’s, author’s, or publication’s team, ready to help at only an email’s notice.
In addition to our standard copyediting & beta reading services for businesses, authors, and publications, we’re excited to announce we now also have editing services for college admissions essays. If you’re a student looking for guidance in refining that all-important essay, visit here for more information.

“Jenna and I first met when she attended one of my business communication workshops. As we engaged in conversational networking I sensed that getting to know more about Jenna and her expertise would be worthwhile. Subsequently, I attended one of Jenna’s presentations which led to my hiring her to review my blog. Jenna produced a 5-page report replete with what was working well, tips on the appearance of the blog, general tips on blogging, as well as comments on specific blog posts that she’d reviewed on my behalf. Once I had a chance to process this helpful input, Jenna provided a follow-up phone call to delve deeper and answer my questions. If you’ve not yet had a chance to hire Jenna, don’t miss out on this golden opportunity. It’s pivotal to your business success.”
Jenna Caputo
Jenna Caputo has been a part of the writing world all her life. Crafting stories, articles, children’s books, and plays since she was little, Jenna decided to pursue her passion as a full-time career. Attending Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, New York, she majored in English with a concentration in creative writing. Studying with Pulitzer Prize writers and award-winning teachers, Jenna learned many valuable skills to improve all aspects of her writing—creative or otherwise.
Jenna always had a passion for theatre and film, and she took that passion to a new level when she interned as a screenwriter & producer’s assistant at 20th Century Fox in Beverly Hills, California. Her prior acting experience combined with the Hollywood training has given her an insider’s knowledge of what works onstage and what doesn’t. It has also provided a solid foundation for writing and editing speeches and video scripts for local companies.
After her internship, Jenna trained her editing skills, which initially included both copyediting and developmental editing. She helped develop first and additional edition textbooks in a variety of subjects including health care, education, and fire science. She worked with several top publishing companies, including Pearson Prentice Hall, McGraw-Hill, Elsevier, and Delmar Cengage, as well as Triple SSS Press Media Development, in developmental editing, text permissions, and copyediting before focusing on her current specialty in business and manuscript editing.
In the business venue, Jenna works with companies to copyedit their content for both online and print materials. On the publishing side, Jenna enjoys working with all types of manuscripts but specializes in copyediting, beta reading, and writing Middle Grade and Young Adult fiction. On the academic side, Jenna guides high school students in editing their college admissions essays to help their applications shine.
When wearing her writing hat, Jenna concentrates on the craft of article writing, business content, and creative fiction. She has had many articles published through the Adirondack Sports & Fitness Magazine, Clifton Park Neighbors, Niskayuna Neighbors, Malta Neighbors, Loudonville Neighbors, North Country Neighbors, Saratoga Today, and Saratoga.com, as well as through other online venues like eHow.com and Albany Dance Examiner. She specializes in articles on health/wellness, inspiration, family, fitness, dance, and nutrition; however, she also enjoys writing for other subject areas as well.
Although her passion for creative writing has taken her into a specialty in Children and Young Adult Fiction, Jenna has also taken great pleasure in the business writing and editing arena. Creating copy that produces measurable results generates immense satisfaction. To be able to take a business’s mission, and put that purpose to words has been an exciting and fulfilling challenge.
If she’s not writing or editing, you can often find Jenna spending time with her family or out on the dance floor!
“Jenna from Silverpen Productions put me at ease with the stressful task of creating content for a website and publicity materials with her sweet and thoughtful manner. Not only did she quickly and efficiently gather important information, she was also able to capture the voice I was going for but couldn’t articulate, and make suggestions that I hadn’t thought about for content. I would highly recommend her to anyone starting out in a business who needs a job done well and quickly. Thanks Jenna!”
