Just wanted to send out a big thank you to all of you who supported Footlighters' spring production of Taming the Wild, Wild West in a Dress! The show ended up being a successful comeback for the group. With the large cast, we are able to meet lots of new talent and fun and interesting people that we are hoping to work with again!

The Fall season is about to get underway, so stay tuned for updates!

We are also doing this play in Dec and would love to see pictures. Also, do you have a character in your script named Philamya? I saw some pics online and they had that character; now I'm wondering if there are different versions of the same play.
  3. I've sent an email out to the cast to see if anyone has any good pictures I could send to you guys. Hopefully I will hear back soon for you (my collection is rather bare since I was dealing with a lot of other issues at the time and didn't have time to take my usual pictures!). Lynn- the character was originally listed as "Phillip Glass." However, that character can also easily be played as a woman. Our original guy had to leave the production, so we ended up using a woman for the show. It can go either way and it worked very well like that. Were the pictures from our show or another one?

Honestly, I've been looking so long I'm not sure where I got what--sorry. That was very clever of you to change the character for your situation. I was hoping it was another character because I would like to expand my cast--oh well. One more thing... did you and your audience enjoy the play? So far we crack up at every rehearsal. Also, did you do the whole melodrama thing with the audience? i.e., boo, hiss etc. Thanks for your quick response.
      • We enjoyed it SO MUCH!! We never stopped laughing. I think we found a new joke every time we went through it, which is a very rare thing! :) We did not do the melodrama thing with the audience, but they did boo a bit on their own. I think that would work well. Are you planning on doing that? You could still always add characters if you need to include more bodies. They could fill out the saloon - be "extras" walking by on the street, or filling the salon, etc. You obviously can't do much with dialogue for them, but you could always add in some physical comedy with them. Have some kind of bit with them on the street. You could even have a "shoot out" out in the audience, using your aisles if you have the room. That would be a lot of fun and a great way to include the audience more (not to mention a good cover for any needed set changes)! We used the aisles for dragging Rhoda to the salon and that went over very well with the crowd. Good luck with it and let me know how it goes! :)
  4. Sorry it has taken me so long! Besides our crazy schedule, the latest show, and all that fun stuff, I've been having a hard time getting a good picture of the set. I usually have multiple shots, but for some reason, we didn't get a good one for this show. I posted a new entry with the one picture I did find. I hope this helps a little!
