As owner of Silverpen Productions, I am known locally as the lady with crazy hair that works behind the scenes to make our local businesses shine with their print and digital content. However, my original training was in creative writing, and that is where I feel my soul resides.
Stories and writing have been an integral part of my life even before I ever knew it could be a career as well as a passion. While I enjoy writing most genres, I primarily live in the Children & Young Adults world. I also love writing screenplays and sometimes cross back over into the world of Adults every now and then as well.
I received my BA in English with a concentration in Creative Writing from Skidmore College, studying with prize-winning writers and teachers, including Pulitzer Prize winner, Steven Millhauser. I completed an internship in screenwriting at 20th Century Fox and worked as a freelance developmental editor for companies such as McGraw-Hill and Pearson Prentice Hall before opening my own business. I am a current and active member of SCBWI.
In addition to my books, I am a regular contributor to local magazines and have had many articles published both in print and online.

I have a great love for the arts in all forms and my varied background has granted me the flexibility to partake in multiple endeavors and the ease to move fluidly between various art forms, while also contributing to my writing!
My passion runs deep for dance, theater, and film, among other things. When not furiously scribbling away at my desk, you will often find me on the ballroom dance floor— either teaching or performing.
If you are interested in my dance background and/or would like to take lessons or choreograph for a performance, take a look at the links below and shoot me a message.
