This is not your average bookstore! At Northshire Bookstore, you immediately enter a cozy atmosphere and are welcomed by warm staff. Their selection includes everything from cookbooks, novels, magazines, clothes, cards, toys, and more! Even if reading isn't your cup of tea, you're bound to find something that catches your eye here. If you’re debating between two books and want to peruse first before you make a decision, have a seat in one of their cozy chairs and stools.

Originally founded by Ed and Barbara Morrow in 1976 in Manchester, VT, the Saratoga Springs location opened in 2013. This lovely new building is a great environment to relax and enjoy a good read or to find that perfect gift. The second floor is dedicated to fostering creativity within children and features books, activity & workbooks, and toys specifically dedicated for multiple age groups.

During the holiday season, Northshire Bookstore holds their annual Book Angel Program. Names of children who would benefit from receiving a book or monetary donation are put on a Christmas tree. Customers can come in, choose a name tag, and make a book donation. Monetary donations for the Book Angel Program can also be made online directly at the Northshire Bookstore website, www.northshire.com.

In response to COVID-19, Northshire also supplies hand sanitizer upon arrival and is open from 10 am – 6 pm. If you prefer to not be indoors at this time, delivery is possible through their website. Northshire Bookstore now partners with 9 Miles East Farm, also located in Saratoga Springs, for additional delivery options (Pizza and a new book anyone? Yes, please!).

Northshire also still offers many events, now holding them virtually during the pandemic. Check their website for a full list of events and all updates regarding COVID, as well as their Facebook page @NorthshireBookstoreSaratoga.
