The Northeast Ballet Company of Schenectady and Proctors Theater is hosting a special program that not only helps combat declining literacy rates in children, but also combines valuable skills in creativity, confidence, and problem solving, with the art of dance.
The students create their own stories, then work with professionals from the Northeast Ballet Company and Proctors Theater to put together a full choreography and show to be performed at Proctor's. The residency allows students from three different classrooms, grades 2-5, to follow the creative process from pre-planning to production day.
